Chandra Engel:

Chandra is a senior at McPherson High School. She wrestles for McPherson High School, Mac Wrestling Club, and the Kansas Krusaders.

Chandra plans to attend and wrestle at Oklahoma City University, She scored a 28 on her ACT which qualifies her for an academic scholarship. Chandra will either major in Business or Art.

What are your hobbies?
drawing, reading, running, working out

What other sports do you do?
weightlifting

What are your short term goals?
place top 4 in the upcoming national tournaments

What are your long term goals?
wrestle in college, at the 2012 olympics, and then enter mixed martial arts

What activities are you involved in at school our outside of school?
coaching club wrestling and art guild

What made you decide to wrestle?
just being around since birth and watching everybody around me do it

Do you prefer to wrestle boys or girls? Why?
girls because it is mostly a match of wits and will rather than muscle

What gets you ready for a match?
visualization and a good breakfast : )

Do you have any routines or habits to get you ready for a match? Are you superstitious?
I make sure that I run first and get into my second wind, then I'll stretch and break a sweat by drilling some takedowns. I try to avoid superstitions, but I still get into them every once in a while.

Do you listen to music when working out or getting ready to wrestle?
It depends on if I feel like I need to go over my game plan or get pumped up
