Darian S. Gonzalez:

Darian is a 11 year old 6th grade student at Hesston Middle School in Hesston, KS. She wrestles for the Newton Wrestling Club (the only girl) and also practices with the Kansas Krusaders in Wichita.

Darian has one older brother who wrestles, Jordan.

Darian's Interest:

Hobbies- Chatting on phone or msn. Texting her friends on her phone is her main hobby. Collecting webkinz and messing with the computer.

Other sports you are involved in? Softball, soccer, and snowboarding.

What are your short term goals? Dropping a weight class. Winning some open tournaments.

What are your long term goals? Win a national title at USAW or USGWA National Championships.

What activities are you involved in at school or outside of school? Children's Community Choir.

What made you decide to wrestle? I saw my older brother wrestling at practice and thought it looked like fun.

Do you prefer to wrestle boys or girls? Girls, because they use technique and wrestle, while boys just try to lay on you or muscle you.

What gets you ready for a match? Stretching and focusing on getting into zone.

Do you have any routines or habits to get you ready for a match? Are you superstitious? Not superstitious. I like to bounce around before matches to get warmed-up.

Do you listen to music when working out or gettingready to wrestle? Not before I wrestle, but when I work out I like to listen to music.

What is your favorite move? Fireman carry is favorite move, but I like to throw anything off of the front headlock.

Darian will wrestle at 12 & Under, 110 lbs. and brings 7 years of experience to the mat.
