It is time!!! Wrestling season is starting and tournaments are
now starting to show up. Look on the announcements page for tournaments
that we are trying to attend as a team.
The Krusaders want to develop a list of women's
wrestling tournaments and wrestling tournaments that feature divisions
for women. Please forward tournament information
to the Krusaders so that we can better promote these events on
this web site.
The Kansas Krusaders compete at a number of major women's wrestling
competitions including state, regional and national tournaments.
For such competitions the Krusaders handle team registrations,
assist with travel arrangements, and serve as coaches and chaperones.
In return, the Krusaders ask that all team members wear official
Kansas Krusaders wrestling singlets and serve as ambassadors for
women's wrestling and USA Wrestling - Kansas.
Coach Edison expects wrestlers to be physically
and mentally prepared to compete at these tournaments. Athletes
have a great time at these events but the main objective is to
showcase the wrestling skills of our athletes.
This is your opportunity to make history
as you join the best women wrestlers in Kansas and test
your wrestling skills against some of the best women wrestlers
in the country.
This season we will compete in as many women's
wrestling tournaments and competitions as possible. Tournaments
under consideration include the USGWA National Championships (Folk
Style), the Power Bar Nationals (Folk Style), the Missouri Valley
Women's Freestyle Showcase (Freestyle/Folkstyle), and the USA
Wrestling Women's Junior National Championships & State Dual
Tournament (Freestyle). USGWA KS State Championships(Folkstyle)
& USAW KS State Championships(Folkstyle). New
for 2008, USAW National Championships(Folkstyle)
The Krusaders are constantly on the lookout for additional girls
wrestling opportunities. To be the best you need to compete against
the best. We feel it is important for the Kansas Krusaders to
compete at major tournaments against the best competition available.
Doing well at these national tournaments is an important step
towards possibly earning future college scholarships and/or earning
a berth on one of our national teams.
Being a non-profit organization operated by volunteers, we appreciate
that not everyone can afford to attend every event. Wrestlers
are not required to attend every Krusader practice or every girls
tournament. If you have financial concerns, please contact Jenni
Edison regarding possible fundraising opportunities.
